A magnetic station charges through a contact on the base, a wireless station charges by induction when the lamp is set down.

Can it charge a phone?

The wireless stations use Qi technology, so a phone can be charged on them as well.

Is the charging protected?

Yes, protection against overheating and overcharging is built in.

What are the stations made of?

Aluminium, with the same two year warranty as the lamps.

Can the lamps still charge with a cable?

Yes. Every lamp comes with a USB-C cable and charges that way as well.
