Most table lamps share the same fate. They look good for a few years, then your interior or your taste changes, and they end up in the attic or at the thrift store, even though the light still works perfectly fine. A shame, we thought. The Rijks collection is our answer to that, and this year that answer won the iF Design Award 2026.
The iF Design Award is one of the most respected design prizes in the world. The entire Rijks collection was honored, designed by our founder Nathalie. Not just for how the lamps look, but for the idea behind them.
One calm base, endless faces
The Rijks collection is built modularly. Each lamp consists of a calm, timeless base of solid marble or travertine, and a shade that clicks onto it. That shade can be swapped without tools, in materials like glass, linen, and 3D-printed porcelain. Because every stone is unique, no two lamps are ever exactly alike. If your interior changes, you simply swap the shade instead of the whole lamp. If a part ever gets damaged, you replace just that one piece.
Design that lasts longer, emotionally too
What struck the jury is that the collection tackles waste in rechargeable lighting. Too often, a lamp that still works perfectly well gets replaced simply because it no longer fits the rest of the room. The calm, archetypal shape of Rijks is made precisely to outlast trends, while the interchangeable shades leave room to change.
