Everything to know about grey table lamps

What is Silver Travertine?

Silver Travertine is a travertine in cool grey and silver tones, with bands of warm sand running through it. Its natural pores are partly filled, so they stay visible and the stone keeps its natural look. See all travertine lamps.

Is Silver Travertine a marble?

No. Travertine is a limestone that forms in layers where mineral-rich spring water leaves calcium behind, while marble is limestone that has been changed by heat and pressure. That is why travertine shows bands and pores, and marble shows veins.

Why does every Silver Travertine base look different?

Because each base is cut from natural stone, and the grey and sand bands run at a different angle through every piece. One base shows fine horizontal lines, another broader bands, so the product photo shows one example and your lamp has its own pattern.

Which grey lamps are made of metal?

The metal lamps in finishes such as stone grey, shadow grey and mouse grey. They are rated IP54 against dust and splashing water and switch between 2700K, 4000K and 6000K. See the metal lamps.

Which grey lamps have a glass or linen shade?

Those in the Rijks Collection, on a base of Silver Travertine. A glass shade gives an even glow, while a linen blend shade softens the light and picks up the warm sand tones in the stone.

Which grey lamps have a 3D-printed porcelain shade?

The grey lamps in the Maera Collection. The white porcelain shade is 3D-printed in sculpted patterns and sits on Silver Travertine, so the pattern of the shade and the bands of the stone meet in one lamp.

Which grey lamps have an alabaster shade?

Those in the Levora Collection. Alabaster is a translucent stone, so the light glows through its cloudy pattern, above the grey and sand bands of the travertine base.

How do I care for a Silver Travertine base?

Travertine reacts to acid like other natural stone, so blot up wine, juice or vinegar straight away. Dust it with a soft, dry cloth; for more, use a damp cloth with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and dry it afterwards.

GREY STONE, WARM LINEN

A base of Silver Travertine with its own bands of grey and sand, under a linen blend shade that softens the grey. No two bases come out of the stone the same.

THE SHADE CHANGES, THE GREY STAYS

Twist the shade off and the same grey base takes glass, linen, porcelain or alabaster. Loose shades are sold separately under lampshades.
