Everything to know about pink table lamps

What is Rosa Aurora marble?

Rosa Aurora is a pale pink marble with soft pink, grey and cream veins. Aurora means dawn, so the name describes the colour rather than a place. It has a calm, even look; see it with our other marbles under marble lamps.

What is Calacatta Vionaro Pink?

A marble with a salmon-pink base and dark, purplish-brown veins that form large patches, which gives it much more contrast than Rosa Aurora. Calacatta Vionaro also comes in white and in yellow; the white version is under white table lamps.

What gives pink marble its colour?

Small amounts of minerals such as iron oxide in the stone. Depending on how much is present, the pink runs from a soft blush to salmon, and the veins can be grey, cream or dark brown, as the two pink marbles on this page show.

Which pink lamps have a glass or linen shade?

Those in the Rijks Collection. A glass shade spreads a smooth, even glow over the pink base, while a linen blend shade gives a softer, textured light. Both shades lift off, so the look of the lamp can change later.

Which pink lamps have a 3D-printed porcelain shade?

The pink lamps in the Maera Collection. Their porcelain shades are 3D-printed into forms such as ribs, waves and scales, and the white porcelain diffuses the light into a soft glow above the pink marble.

Which pink lamps have an alabaster shade?

Those in the Levora Collection. The shade is alabaster, a soft, translucent stone with its own clouded pattern, so these lamps pair two natural stones: pink marble below and glowing alabaster above.

Can I change the shade on a pink lamp?

Yes. Every shade on the pink lamps is modular and twists off the base, so the same pink marble base can carry glass, linen, 3D-printed porcelain or alabaster. Loose shades are sold separately under lampshades.

How do I care for a pink marble base?

Pale marble can absorb coloured liquids such as red wine or coffee, so wipe spills straight away; acids like lemon or vinegar also leave dull marks on the polished surface. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, and for more use a damp cloth with a pH-neutral stone cleaner, then dry.

A GLOBE ON PINK STONE

The Metsu, with a glass globe on a base of Rosa Aurora marble. Soft pink and grey veins run through the pale stone, and every base carries its own pattern. See the Rijks Collection.

SAME SHAPE, TWO STONES
