Everything to know about brown table lamps

What is Dark Emperador marble?

Dark Emperador is a dark brown marble with fine cream and light brown veins that run like a net through the stone. Emperador is Spanish for emperor. See it with our other stones under marble lamps.

What do light brown, dark brown and chestnut mean?

They are the colour tones of the brown wooden bases, from a light, sandy brown to a deep dark brown and the reddish brown of chestnut. Each product page lists the wood the base is made of. Many of these tones are in the Nordic Collection.

What is the difference between a glass and a frosted glass shade?

Frosted glass has a matt surface that spreads the light evenly, so the shade glows softly without a bright spot in the middle. You will find it on many of the brown wooden lamps, next to the other glass lamps.

Which brown lamps are made of metal?

The metal lamps in mocha, koala brown and espresso. They have a smooth colour finish instead of wood grain or veining, and are rated IP54 against dust and splashing water. See them with the other metal lamps.

Which brown lamps have a 3D-printed porcelain shade?

The brown lamps in the Maera Collection, on a base of rubberwood or Dark Emperador marble. The porcelain is white, so on a brown base the shade stands out as a light, sculpted form, and its pattern shows once the lamp is on.

Which brown lamps have an alabaster shade?

Those in the Levora Collection, on rubberwood or Dark Emperador. Alabaster is a translucent stone with its own cloudy veining, so the shade glows warmly above the brown base.

Can I change the shade on a brown lamp?

On the lamps of the Rijks, Nordic, Maera and Levora collections, yes: the shade twists off the base and another one twists on. Loose shades are sold separately under lampshades.

How do I look after a wooden lamp base?

Dust it with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away; avoid soaking the wood, solvents and abrasive cleaners. For an Dark Emperador base, use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and keep acids away.

LIGHT WOOD, SOFT GLASS

A rubberwood base in light brown under a frosted glass shade that softens the light. It dims with a touch and moves with you from the sofa to the table. More wood is in the Nordic Collection.
