Important legal topics
Your order is confirmed once you receive our confirmation email. Products are subject to availability. If an item is unexpectedly out of stock, we will contact you as soon as possible.
All prices are shown in your local currency and include applicable VAT, unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are calculated and shown separately at checkout. See our Shipping & Delivery page for rates.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay, along with regional methods such as iDEAL, Bancontact and Klarna. All payments are processed securely through Mollie.
We ship worldwide with trusted international carriers, and you will receive a tracking link as soon as your order is on its way. If your order is lost or damaged on its way to you, we will arrange a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you. For returns, the parcel stays your responsibility until it safely reaches us, so we recommend using a tracked and insured service. See our Shipping & Delivery page for full details.
You may withdraw from your order within 14 days without giving a reason. See our Return & Refund Policy for the full procedure and the model withdrawal form.
Our 2-year warranty applies to all consumer orders, in addition to your statutory legal warranty rights. For business (B2B) orders, a 1-year warranty applies. Natural materials such as marble, travertine and oak may show unique variation in colour and grain. This is a natural characteristic, not a defect.
We ship worldwide. For deliveries outside the EU, import duties and local taxes may apply and are the customer's responsibility, unless stated otherwise at checkout.
Our liability for damages is limited to the extent permitted by Dutch law and never exceeds the amount paid for the relevant order.
All content, designs, product names and imagery on this website remain the property of Amsterdam Lighting Group B.V., trading as Tavellio.
We handle your personal data with care and in line with the GDPR. See our full Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and why.
Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes are submitted to the competent Dutch court, without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer.

Article 3 — Applicability
These terms apply to every offer from Tavellio and every agreement made between Tavellio and a customer, both consumer and business (B2B).
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all provisions apply to both groups. Specific provisions for business customers are set out in Article 20.
Deviations are valid only where agreed in writing. We do not accept a customer's own terms unless we have expressly agreed to them in writing.
Article 4 — The offer
Product descriptions and images are as accurate as possible. Obvious errors or mistakes in the offer do not bind Tavellio. Product photos are indicative; slight variations in colour may occur.
Article 5 — The contract
The presentation of products in our online shop is an invitation to place an order, not a binding offer.
By completing checkout you make a binding offer to purchase the items in your basket. We confirm receipt of your order by email. The agreement is concluded once we accept your offer by order confirmation or by dispatching the goods.
Before submitting your order you can review and correct your entries using the correction functions in the checkout.
We may decline an order where fraud or abuse is suspected.
Article 6 — Contract language and storage of the contract text
The languages available for concluding the agreement are English, Dutch, German and French.
We store the contract text and send you the order details together with these terms by email with your order confirmation. The current version of these terms can be viewed and printed on this page at any time.
Article 7 — Right of withdrawal
Consumers may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving the product, without giving a reason. Where several items ordered together are delivered separately, the period starts on the day the last item is received.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, inform us by a clear statement: by email to info@tavellio.com, by post, or by using the online withdrawal form on our Return & Refund Policy page. You may use the model withdrawal form, but you are not obliged to.
Once you have notified us, the product must be sent back within 14 days.
We refund all payments received from you, including the costs of standard delivery, except any additional costs arising from your choice of a delivery method other than our cheapest standard option. We use the same payment method you used for the original order, and you are not charged any fees for the refund.
You are liable for any diminished value of the goods only where that loss results from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. You are free to examine the lamp as you would in a shop: unpack it, look at it, switch it on.
Returning the product in its original packaging is recommended, as this best protects the item in transit, but it is not a condition for exercising your right of withdrawal.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to business customers.
Article 8 — Costs of withdrawal
You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
Article 9 — Exclusion of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products made to your specifications or clearly personalised, or to sealed goods that cannot be returned for hygiene or safety reasons once unsealed.
Article 10 — Price
Prices stated on the website are inclusive of applicable VAT. Shipping costs may be added; these are shown clearly during checkout before you place your order. The price shown at the time of your order applies.
Customs duties and import taxes outside the EU are borne by the customer. Typographical and printing errors are reserved.
Article 11 — Payment
Payment is made at the time of ordering via Mollie, using credit or debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay, along with regional methods such as iDEAL, Bancontact and Klarna.
We may suspend delivery where payment has not been completed. Invoices are available to business customers on request.
Article 12 — Retention of title
The goods remain our property until payment has been received in full.
Article 13 — Delivery and execution
Tavellio ships worldwide with trusted international carriers. You will receive a tracking link as soon as your order is on its way.
Delivery times are indicative and stated on each product page. Where no delivery period has been agreed, we deliver within 30 days of the order. If delivery is delayed beyond this period, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.
For consumers, risk passes on delivery to you or a recipient you have designated, including where the goods are sent by carrier. If your order is lost or damaged on its way to you, Tavellio will arrange a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.
For returns, we recommend a tracked and insured service. Please keep your proof of postage. We process your refund once the return has reached us.
Customs and import costs outside the EU are borne by the customer.
Article 14 — Statutory rights
Your statutory rights in respect of defective goods apply in full. For consumers, the limitation period for claims in respect of defects is two years from delivery.
Where you are a consumer resident in another country, mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence remain unaffected.
Article 15 — Manufacturer's warranty
(1) In addition to your statutory rights, we grant consumers a warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase. Your statutory rights are not limited by this warranty and exist alongside it free of charge. The guarantor is Amsterdam Lighting Group B.V., at the address in Article 2. The warranty applies worldwide. For business (B2B) orders, a 1-year warranty applies.
(2) Scope. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship occurring under normal, intended use.
(3) How to make a claim. Contact us at info@tavellio.com, quoting your order number and describing the fault. To help identify the cause, we will usually ask for photos or a short video. We respond within 2 working days.
(4) What happens next. Where the issue cannot be resolved remotely and the warranty applies, we send you a free return label. We repair the lamp and return the same unit to you. Where repair is not possible or not economically reasonable, we provide a replacement or refund the purchase price. In clear-cut cases we may send a replacement directly, without asking you to return the original first.
(5) Excluded from the warranty: damage caused by improper handling, dropping or force; moisture and water damage, and use outdoors where the product is not specified for outdoor use; unauthorised repairs; normal signs of wear; the natural decline in battery capacity described in Article 16; natural variation in the materials used.
(6) Where our inspection shows that the warranty does not apply, for example because one of the exclusions in paragraph 5 applies, we inform you before taking any further step. We return the lamp to you on request; in that case you bear the cost of return shipping.
Article 16 — Natural materials and battery-powered products
Natural materials such as marble, travertine, alabaster and oak may show natural variation in colour, veining and grain. This is characteristic of the material and is not a defect.
Our rechargeable lamps contain a lithium-ion battery and electronic components. Battery capacity naturally declines with use over time; this gradual decline is not a defect and is not covered under warranty. Manufacturing defects in the battery are covered under Articles 14 and 15.
Article 17 — Disposal of electrical equipment and batteries
Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste. The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicates the obligation to dispose of the product separately. As an end user you are required to return old equipment to an appropriate collection point.
Our lamps contain a built-in lithium-ion battery. Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally required to return used batteries; return is free of charge.
Article 18 — Complaints and disputes
Complaints about the execution of the agreement should be submitted, fully and clearly described, to info@tavellio.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body.
Where a complaint cannot be resolved, the dispute may be submitted to a national consumer dispute body in your country of residence.
Article 19 — Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights relating to the Tavellio website, product designs and content belong to Amsterdam Lighting Group B.V.
Article 20 — Business customers (B2B)
The following provisions apply only where you act as a business customer at the time the agreement is concluded:
- The right of withdrawal does not apply.
- The limitation period for claims in respect of defects is one year from delivery.
- Risk passes to you on handover of the goods to the carrier.
- The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are also entitled to bring proceedings at your general place of jurisdiction.
- Individually agreed terms apply in addition. See our B2B page for details.
Article 21 — Liability
(1) We are liable without limitation for damage arising from injury to life, body or health caused by a breach of duty on our part; for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence; where we have fraudulently concealed a defect; where we have expressly assumed a guarantee; and under applicable mandatory product liability legislation.
(2) Where we breach, through slight negligence, an essential contractual obligation, being an obligation the fulfilment of which makes proper performance of this agreement possible in the first place and on the observance of which you may regularly rely, our liability is limited to the damage that was foreseeable at the time the agreement was concluded and typical for this type of contract.
(3) Any further liability is excluded. In particular, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or damage arising from use of the product that does not comply with the instructions supplied with it.
(4) The limitations in paragraphs 2 and 3 apply equally to our employees, representatives and subcontractors.
(5) The above does not affect your statutory rights in respect of defective goods, or any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence.
Article 22 — Force majeure
Tavellio is not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Your statutory rights, including the right to cancel, remain unaffected.
Article 23 — Gift cards
Tavellio gift cards are valid for the period stated at purchase, are not redeemable for cash, and remain the responsibility of the holder if lost. The right of withdrawal under Article 7 applies unchanged to the purchase of a gift card.
Article 24 — International orders
For orders shipped outside the European Union, import duties, customs fees and local taxes may apply and are the customer's responsibility unless stated otherwise.
Article 25 — Governing law and jurisdiction
(1) These terms and every agreement between Tavellio and the customer are governed by Dutch law. The Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is excluded. Where you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence.
(2) As a consumer, you may bring proceedings either at your place of residence or at our registered office. Proceedings against you may only be brought before the court at your place of residence.
(3) Jurisdiction for business customers is governed by Article 20.
Article 26 — Amendments
Tavellio may amend these terms for future orders. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order.
